Sir (Dr) Alexander Fleming
(1881–1955)

Sir (Dr) Ronald Ross
(1857-1932)
The Pioneer Who Changed Medicine Forever.
Received Noble Prize in Medicine (1902) for his groundbreaking discovery that the malarial parasite resides in the gut of the Anopheles mosquito.
His landmark discovery was made during his tenure at the historic Presidency General (PG) Hospital in Calcutta — today’s IPGMER–SSKM Hospital — where he meticulously traced the parasite’s life cycle.
This breakthrough transformed the fight against one of humanity’s deadliest diseases, saving millions of lives.
